Seven Months Of Stetson Ray

Family

Stetson Ray is seven months old today. As I sit here writing this I find myself feeling a little emotional, well, more than usual at least. It seems like these milestones come and go in the blink of an eye and this month I have found myself thinking ahead more than ever. We have started talking about his first birthday party and when would be the right time to add another little to our crew.

I’ve always wanted a big family and a bunch of kids. And I will be honest every time I used to hear a mom say “how can I love another baby as much as my first?” I never really understood it. Until now. Sure, I know that when the time comes, my heart will expand and I will somehow be overwhelmed with the love I have for multiple littles. But it does seem like a wild concept to me right now because I do love my little boy so dang much. Watching him grow this month has yet again reminded me that time isn’t going to slow down. So I better be paying attention.

Our First Date Without A Baby

At the beginning of this month, Tyler and I had our first dinner date away from Stetson. Our friend Ally watched him and it was so nice to have a few hours to ourselves but it also felt totally weird. We were laughing at dinner at how we didn’t really know what to do with ourselves. To us, the baby hasn’t really changed our lives all that much. We never used to go out a ton before having him, so it doesn’t necessarily feel like he has kept us from doing anything.

But for this mama to be able to sit down and have a meal without a little one needing something, was definitely nice.

Valentine’s Day

Our Valentines day was rather uneventful. It has been snowing like crazy around here, so going into town just felt like a lot. We decided to do a surf and turf dinner instead and snuggle up to a movie. But of course earlier in the day when Tyler was at work, I had to put Stetson through the torture of a Valentines day photoshoot. And they might just be some of my favorite photos to this day!

Stetson’s First Flight

This month also was the first time that Stetson got to experience and airplane! It was just me and him going up to visit my in laws. Tyler stayed home to work. I was definitely nervous to tackle the trip alone but Stetson did great overall! The plane ride there he mostly just slept the whole time. But on the way home he was a little less amused and definitely was not his usual happy self. And that made for a very anxious mama. Luckily everyone on the flight seemed to be understanding for the most part. But I would be lying if I said I didn’t get off the plane and hug Tyler in tears. His next flight will be in another month or so, and I will be happy to have help on that one.

Can’t Live Without List

This baby shampoo and lotion: If your little one has sensitive skin like mine, then it’s time to toss the Johnson and Johnson products and use these instead! It was recommended by his pediatrician but I also use this brand for my own face wash and love it.

This Wrap: I have tried a few different wraps and carriers and honestly love them for different reasons. For hectic travel days I did really like my erobaby carrier because it feels super secure and is relatively quick to put on. But my Solly baby wrap is a winner for at home or more causal use. It’s super soft, and feminine looking and seems more cozy for baby wearing around the house. I also have crib sheet for Stetson’s room from Solly Baby and they are SOOO soft!

These Baby Feeders: My mother in law had these at her house and they were so nice to stick certain foods in for Stetson to try without having to worry about him choking on anything. We put watermelon and avocado in them and he loved it!

All In All

Stetson really is such an easy baby who loves to explore, blow spit bubbles and scream really loudly with excitement. He is such a little boy who loves to play rough with his daddy and is starting to get more and more cuddly with mama. But above all, he is completely obsessed with dogs. That kid has never met a dog he doesn’t like and it’s one of my favorite things to watch his laugh his little heart out when a dog barks, or licks him. He is such a joy to have around!
