Looking for some western nursery decor ideas? Well, look no further!

I had such a blast putting together my son’s nursery and making it feel like the cowboy haven that I wanted it to be without it being too cheesy or over the top. Often times when it comes to decorating with a western touch, I see people taking it a bit too far. Cowhide on everything, and lot’s of funky clashing patterns.

Which, if that is your jam, then hey I say go for it. But personally I take a more minimal approach and add in western elements to an otherwise pretty simple room.

Furniture

Let’s first start with the basics. To complete your western nursery decor look, you will need a crib, a changing table or dresser of some kind, and a rocking chair. Among other things too but we will start here!

Accents

Cute accents are where you can really make your baby’s nursery as western or minimal as you would like. I am a firm believer that less is more when it comes to decorating with a western style. A few accent items is all you need. Not every single item needs to have cowhide prints on it.

Books

My son has some of the cutest western books I have ever seen and so instead of hiding them away in a box or on a closed off shelf, I decided to display them on some shelves since they matched the theme so well.

Cozy Things

Babies make you want to snuggle up and get all cozy. My goal when decorating my son’s nursery was to make it feel like a safe, cozy place for him to be (and me!) Even though I might have gone a little overboard with the amount of blankets he has but I don’t care!
