It might be safe to say that my maternity video makes me cry harder than my wedding video. What do you think?

Recently I was given the opportunity to model for a styled maternity photoshoot. And if you cannot tell by this video, it was incredible. Photos are my bread and butter of course, but there is something so special about video. Getting to see your real life memories in motion is a totally different experience.

One day I will get to look back on this video and remember all the tiny details that sometimes are not fully present in a photograph.

Motherhood is really such a gift and I know in the depths of my soul that I will never do anything greater than this and I am okay with that.

Our society tries to plant these seeds for you to believe that you cannot achieve great things after you have kids. That kids hold you back, ruin your future, that children are an inconvenience or a financial burden….

We live in a broken world that believes terminating a life is the only way you can go to school, or have a career, or be successful.

I say screw that. To all of it.

True women empowerment is saying that you can be both. Not that you have to choose one over the other.

I believe that women are pretty freaking incredible. We can carry life inside of us. We get to raise our own little beings to someday do great things and make changes in the world.

And that’s a hill I am willing to die on.

Children are worth it. Every messy moment they bring with them.
