It’s hard to believe that we are already celebrating 6 months of marriage. These months have seriously flown by and I feel like we have grown so much as a couple. Every day it feels like our relationship is getting stronger and building a better foundation than before. I won’t lie, it is not always sunshine and rainbows. Marriage is hard and it is work. But there is so much beauty in this covenant we have entered into together.

Over time as you slip back into normal life post wedding, it can be easy to forget the details of your day. It all sorta just blends together and you remember key moments, you see the photos, but what you don’t always remember are the exact emotions. At least for me that was until we got our wedding video.

I knew I wanted a wedding video for a lot of reasons, but watching ours back it became so clear. Nothing could ever bring me back into a moment of time the way this video does. Every emotion we felt, every little butterfly fluttering around in my stomach all came rushing back.

I have watched this video several times and I don’t think it will ever get old. Showing our babies how happy we were on this day will be my greatest joy. Being able to share something with them that truly captures our story and the journey we have walked to get here.

We are 6 months into marriage and this video brings me right back to the moment I walked down the aisle with tears in my eyes knowing I was making the absolute best decision of my life. There was no question about it. And after sitting on this video for a few days, I am finally ready to share it with you.

The Best Part Of Marriage So Far

I think for me the best part of marriage has just been being able to really bring our lives together. As a dating couple we did just about everything together however there is still a lot of separation and things you cannot do. Being married, I literally get to wake up every day next to the guy that makes me the happiest. I get to cook him meals, and heck even do his laundry because serving him really brings me so much joy.

I have become a lot less selfish being married because well, it’s not just me anymore. It’s almost like a game of who can help the other person out the most. And when I drop the ball on something, Tyler is always there to carry it through.

The Challenges Of Marriage

One of the hardest things is just really finding a rhythm. When it’s just you on your own, you can do things how you want them done. But I have really had to understand that Tyler has his own way and timing with things and that’s okay! I feel like we have really found our groove though and for the most part life has been smooth with the occasional hiccup here and there.

Since being married, we honestly argue less, and I owe a lot of that to our pre marriage class we did at our church. It really did help me gain an understanding of how Tyler thinks, and how I can cater to his feelings the best.

Our Plans For The Next 6 Months

Our little one on the way is keeping us plenty busy for the next few months as we prepare to bring a new life into the world. It’s crazy to think that in another 6 months, we will be holding him in our arms before we even celebrate 1 year of marriage. Some may think that’s fast or that we should have waited a full year before trying for kids, but why?

We are both ready to take this step and could not be more excited to grow our family! But in the meantime, we plan to soak in these last few months as a family of 2 and just enjoy each other’s company and learn about one another. Marriage is really such a blessing and such wild ride and I am so lucky to be on it with Tyler.
