We are back home after a week long trip to Washington with Tyler’s family and I have so many fun things I want to share with you from this trip!

Why Did We Go To Washington?

Every year Tyler’s family does a unique tradition. Instead of getting together for Christmas, they do a big trip in the summertime. They have been doing this for several years now, long before I came around, and it has become one of my favorite parts of the year.

Sometimes it’s a vacation spot like Hawaii or Cabo, and sometimes it’s just held at Tyler’s parents home, like this year. Well, technically, the only reason we held it at his parents home this year was because I am pregnant, so traveling too far away would have been tricky being that I am 9 months pregnant.

For us, the trip was about a 10 hour drive one way. The drive was necessary because we were also going to be having a baby shower while up there so we needed to bring a car to bring stuff back with us. And of course to bring the dog along too!

What Did We Do?

Tyler and I arrived on Sunday (Father’s day) and the rest of that evening we just went to dinner with his parents and relaxed since his other siblings were not going to get there until the next day. On Monday, everyone made their arrivals and we got to go watch some of our nieces at their final horseback riding lesson for the summer which was so fun for me!

The rest of the week consisted of hanging out in the sun and watching the kids play in the water. There was also a lot of eating yummy food.

Normally there are dedicated days to certain activities. So one day was adults night out where the kids were all watched by a sitter. Another day was Girls day, and we got to go to lunch and then shopping! The boys had a day as well, and they went to lunch and golfing!

The last full day of the trip was Saturday, and that was also the day of our baby shower where Stetson Ray was so spoiled with lots of gifts. My parents even made the drive up from California to attend and that was a lot of fun having them there.

My Favorite Parts Of The Trip

There are always so many fun memories to be made on these trips! One of my favorites from this year though, was having my nieces and nephews be so fascinated with my pregnant belly. I thought it was the sweetest thing when they would feel the baby move or they would talk to my tummy.

I cannot wait to have this little boy here for our trip next year!
