Hey there friends! I’m Back!!

In case you do not know me, I am Sarah Elrod. And that line is pretty important. Because you see, I’m a newlywed! New last name, new me!

On this episode of the Branded Cowgirl Podcast I thought it would be fitting to do a Q+A as I enter into this new chapter of my life.

I also wanted to also just share a little bit of my heart and a life update and all the things. I know there has been a lot of new listeners to this show recently and our little community is growing tremendously! I am so excited to have each and every one of you here.

I wanted to say thank you for your patience and Grace over the course of the last few months. My brain has been a bit of a scattered mess, and my plate has just been so full. This podcast had to get put on the back burner a couple of times because I was not able to focus on this plus my paying clients.

Make sure if you are not already in the Podcast Facebook group you join because that is a great place to share your ideas for the show and what you want to see from me in the future! You can also ask questions and either I or someone else in the group can answer them for you!

Life Update

This does not feel like real life at all.

I swear it feels like just yesterday when I met Tyler for the first time, or when he was down on one knee with tears in his eyes as I completely sobbed when he asked me to be his wife.

That was almost a year ago.

What a year this has been.

What a wild journey holy moly.

Reflecting on the past

I have been reflecting so much these past few months but especially the past few days. I cannot help but think about my whole life. And how every decision I made has led me to this moment. I cannot help but think about how when I was a little girl I used to dread the idea of marrying someone because I didn’t want to change my last name.

It’s funny the things we used to think as kids.

In high school I used to dream about my wedding but also I was completely terrified of it. I worried I would never meet someone who was as good of a man as my father is. I worried I would never meet a man who loves Jesus as much if not more than I do. Someone who leads us closer to him and encourages us to grow along side of his grace

In college I thought I met the one.

I was 18, he was 20, and I swore I was going to marry that boy. He was my first real love and when we broke up I felt like my whole entire world was shattered. I vividly remember laying on the floor in my shower bawling and breathing uncontrollably because I thought I lost the one.

But looking back I can now see that even in those really hard, confusing moments, God was holding my hand and saying “please just trust me”

Trust that I have a plan that you will never fully understand. One that doesn’t make any sense to you right now. But if you just trust me, it will all come to light soon.

If only I had known that 2 years from that heart shattering moment would my future husband’s facebook profile appear before my eyes.

And that a month after that I would be on an airplane across the country to go meet him.

My shaking hands and pounding heart inside of the airport as I was about to come face to face with him for the first time.

I remember the way Tyler was just sitting there, waiting for me, he didn’t even see me yet but I saw him. And when he finally noticed I had arrived, he bounced up in the bubbly way that he still does to this day.

My guard was up, but it didn’t take long for him to break down every wall I put up.
