Welcome to the brand new Every Successful Rancher podcast! Do you ever feel like you need to just start over with a fresh perspective? Well, after 3 very successful years hosting the Branded Cowgirl Podcast, I have shifted and rebranded to where I felt my life was headed. So here we are! Same great content as BCP… but much more!

 

Who Am I?

 

In case we have not had the pleasure of meeting yet, my name is Sarah Elrod. I’m a serial entrepreneur and homemaker. Since a young age I always knew that I didn’t want to grow up just to go work some corporate job every day. I started training horses right after high school and eventually it became my full time gig. But I also had found another passion in photography. By day I was getting thrown around on frisky horses. And by night, I was off at photoshoots, documenting the sweetest couples, seniors and families.

After a bad horse accident in 2018, I was forced out of my horse training career for a while and I leaned into photography full time. This career path took me places I never could have imagined. Between the two VERY different industries, I learned a lot about business and online marketing. The power of social media, and how to use content to get more paying clients.

When I am not out with the horses or typing away on my laptop, you will find me doing what is now my full time gig. Being a mama. As I type this post, I have a 1 year old son named Stetson, and a little girl on her way. The hardest job I have had by far has been being a stay at home mom, especially one that is also trying to grow her business. Over the past year I have had to learn a ton about balance (whatever that actually means) and also just how to have a ton of patience and grace.

It’s not easy trying to be both the CEO and the homemaker, but hey, we are making it work.

 

Why Start Over With A New Name?

 

About 3 years ago now, I started my journey as a podcaster and had no idea what I was doing, and didn’t have a super solid plan in place. I was kinda just winging it and taking it day by day. Somehow, I managed to land in the top charts of marketing podcasts and was one of the leading podcasts in the western industry. It was wild to see how many people were tuning in every week and listening to the things that I had to say. And seriously so humbling.

The name I originally chose was Branded Cowgirl as a play on words. Branded being a word within the western industry for making your mark on something. And similarly what branding is in the business world. It’s your unique stamp on the world. And then Cowgirl, because I knew I wanted to gear towards women. But also I truly believe that a Cowgirl is someone who is resilient and never gave up on their dreams.

But 3 years in, my business and my life was changing a lot. And the name Branded Cowgirl no longer felt totally aligned with where I was headed. Something I would always say on the show is that I created it with the old phrase in mind, “every successful rancher has a wife that works in town”. Which is why we are here. New name, similar mission. But also with some added twists on the way.

 

About This Podcast

 

The Every Successful Rancher podcast still aligns with the general mission I had for Branded Cowgirl. In fact you will see updated versions of episodes from that show. But I am also going to be leaning more into the ranch wife, rural lifestyle role too. With more episodes on day to day living, balancing motherhood and entrepreneurship, encouragement when living rurally, and much more.

In a nut shell, if you loved the content that Branded Cowgirl provided, that won’t be changing. You can expect the same great valuable content to grow your business and brand. But with a slightly less aggressive approach to being a CEO boss babe. Sometimes I feel like I hit that a little too hard, when that was not actually how I was even living my own life. This podcast was created for the rural stay at home mamas wanting to make an extra stream of income for their families. Not those that want to become millionaires (although that would be cool too).

We keep it really real around here. You will hear my kiddos in the background, and if you are watching on youtube, there’s a good chance you might even see them from time to time. As a work from home mom with no childcare, I am fulling giving into the chaos and embracing the reality that yes, I do in fact have kids and they do in fact cry sometimes during recording sessions. Take it or leave it. If you are here for the real, the raw and the rural, this is the podcast for you.

One more thing that is going to be changing is how often new episodes are released. For Branded Cowgirl I was doing twice per week. But truthfully, I struggle with that right now. I have a lot on my plate and since we are going to be welcoming a new baby soon, I want to be a really present mom and take some of the stress off. So I am going to be releasing new episodes once per week (for now). On Tuesdays. This way I can pour more love and attention into each episode and not rush though them to meet a certain quota.

 

In Conclusion

 

Life is messy and full of change and I am excited to see where this show is going to take me and you! Because without you, there would not be this show. Branded Cowgirl made such a big impact on my life and it was such a successful show and I know that Every Successful Rancher is going to follow right in the footsteps of BCP and make an even greater impact.
