In this chatty girl talk type episode, I discuss my experiences with my second pregnancy, and how it differs from my first. I share about what we are doing to prepare for baby number 2 and the things I am implementing in my business before she gets here. Grab your favorite comfort drink and let’s talk all things pregnancy and babies!

Pregnancy with baby number 2

This is probably going to make you roll your eyes, but I actually really love being pregnant. So far both of my experiences with my son and baby number 2 have been relatively easy. And I am grateful for that! However, that does not mean that each pregnancy doesn’t come with their own set of challenges. This one in particular has been a lot more tiring for me. Maybe because I have a toddler now? Or maybe it’s because I am having a girl this time? Either way, this mama is getting excited for the end. The birth of baby number 2 is less than two months away. And that puts me in all my feels. I cannot wait to have the newborn stage all over again, but also, it’s somewhat sad to think that it won’t just be me and my son anymore. Watching your first child grow and develop into an older sibling is a very bittersweet feeling.

Overall when I think about this pregnancy, some of the key differences and challenges have been:

  • I was a lot more sick and tired in the first trimester of this pregnancy than I was with my first born
  • I was able to enjoy the pregnancy more the first time around because I wasn’t focused on keeping a toddler alive
  • With baby number 2, I have hardly taken any pregnancy bump progression photos
  • This time, I struggle to remember what week I am on
  • Her room is still not put together and it’s getting close to the end

Balancing Work and Family: My Concerns and Strategy

It would be a lie to tell you that I have no worries about having a second child. Particularly about the challenges of having two kiddos while also managing a business. It was hard enough keeping up with one kid’s schedule, so I am not totally sure what to expect with two kids who are on completely different schedules for sleeping and easting. But I am a planner, and also a “wing it” kind of person. So I will go in with some sort of idea on how to tackle it, and if it fails, that’s ok! My plan is to work ahead as much as possible during these last few weeks. I am aiming to complete all my tasks for March (and April) in the coming weeks and preparing content and business tasks. Wish me luck!
