What are the first 10 emails you should include in your email nurture sequence for photographers? If you are reading this, there’s a good chance you know that you should have an email list to help elevate your business and bring in new inquiries. But maybe you are stuck on what to actually talk about with that list. I highly recommend creating an automated nurture sequence that will run, well, automatically! That way whenever someone joins your list they are served up all the good stuff you have to share without actually having to send them the emails in real time!

My favorite platform for email marketing is Flodesk! And you can get 50% off when you use this link! But there are so many platforms out there that work amazing so find the one that suits you the best!

In case you aren’t sure what I mean when I say “nurture sequence” here’s a quick definition. A nurture sequence is a series of emails that help guide potential clients through their journey, building trust, providing value, and eventually leading them to book your services. Typically you will offer some type of freebie that people opt in for and then once people sign up to get the freebie they are put into your nurture sequence workflow automatically!

You can choose to have 1 email send every day or 1 email a week. Whatever you think suits your business the best!

Here’s my suggested 10-email nurture sequence for photographers

Email 1: Welcome & Introduction

A friendly introduction, letting them know what to expect from your emails. Share a bit about your style, what makes your photography unique, and how you’re excited to connect.

Email 2: Showcase Your Portfolio

Highlight some of your best work. Include a variety of shoots (weddings, portraits, events, etc.) to give them a sense of your range. Add a short story about each image to personalize it!

Email 3: Your Process & Experience

Walk them through how you work with clients, from booking to delivering final photos. Explain your workflow, the importance of pre-shoot meetings, and how you make sessions stress-free.

Email 4: Client Testimonials

Share glowing reviews from past clients. Include photos alongside the testimonials to build credibility and show results.

Email 5: FAQ & Common Concerns

Address common concerns and questions clients often have before booking a photographer. This could include pricing, timelines, what to wear, location scouting, etc.

Email 6: Photography Tips & Inspiration

Provide value by offering tips on how to prepare for a photoshoot, choosing the right outfits, or finding the best locations. You could also inspire them with creative shoot ideas. (you could even break this down into several emails so that your nurture sequence lasts even longer!)

Email 7: Behind-the-Scenes Peek

Give a behind-the-scenes look at a recent shoot, including candid moments and the technical aspects. This builds trust by showing you’re professional and relatable.

Email 8: Limited-Time Offer or Discount

Introduce a time-sensitive discount or package deal to encourage bookings. It could be a seasonal offer or an exclusive deal for your email subscribers.

Email 9: Social Proof & Community Engagement

Encourage them to follow you on social media for more updates, sneak peeks, and giveaways. Include links to Instagram, Facebook, and any other platforms where you’re active.

Email 10: Final Call to Action

End with a strong CTA. Summarize what you’ve covered, re-emphasize the benefits of working with you, and make it easy for them to book a session with a clear link or button. Once they get this email, you can have them placed into your regular weekly newsletter segment!
